These Suaimhneas retreats allow you to spend quiet time in our wild and natural retreat space at Purecamping.
The Irish word ‘Suaimhneas’ means peace. This retreat is designed to give you the means to find some Suimhneas in your life.
What is ‘peace’. It is closely related to the concept of Santosha in Sanskrit, meaning contentment. It also relates to many of the other Yamas and Niymas, the observances to be followed according to traditional Yoga philosophy. Ahimsa, is non-violence, Satya, is truth. Aparigraha, the letting go of things that we don’t need to hold on to.
The Programme:
The Yoga Asanas or postures are taught in a progressive way building stability, strength and mobility taking into account all aspects of your being; physical, energetic, emotional and mental.
Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation leads you towards the peaceful quiet state of ‘Suaimhneas’ or contented bliss.
Day retreats include your Yoga and Meditation practice, lunch, sauna and Yoga Nidra.
Weekend retreats are are all-inclusive, so you don’t have to think about anything at all, except making your way West.
Absolutely not. Classes are adapted to the levels of all students needs.
Not particularly. You might be recuperating from an illness and might need to use this weekend to get a deep and restorative rest. You can choose to lie in Shavasana if things get too much for you and that is absolutely acceptable and recommended.
This particular weekend is not really suitable for children as there is no specific program on for them and we would like to give the practice space over to adults on this weekend.
There may be other children on site staying with families that are on holidays here. It will be fairly minimal though as the school holidays are over and children are back into their school routine.
