COMMUNAL KITCHEN

Our philosophy at Pure Space is to provide a space where you can get a break from the routine of everyday life. For that reason, we try to create spaces that are different to home but have some of the comforts of home. We do our best to keep you immersed in nature while giving shelter and protection from the elements. After all, thats what you come here for!

We provide spaces where people can gather with a community atmosphere. Friendships have begun and grown here.

What to expect:

Our communcal kitchen is equipped pots and pans and utensils. If you have come here on bike or on foot and you need plates and cutlery, there are few spares around. We also have 2 rentable 'kitchen boxes' with crockery and cutlery for a bigger family.

Two 5-ring electric hobs give you plenty of scope for gourmet dining. A kettle and toaster give you some home comforts, and our fridges provide space for any perishables that you may have. We have a combi microwave but do not have a convection oven.

Each accommodation unit has a sealed 'kitchen box' with plates, cups and cutlery, and a cooler box for food storage.

Many will have heard of the large number of breaching basking sharks off Loop Head, Co Clare. We have recorded 48 breaches in 2 hours on Thursday evening and 85 in three hours today (Friday). If out on a boat we advise you to be very cautious, the risk of a basking shark landing on your boat is moderate. We have no evidence that sharks are aware of boats on the surface prior to breaching so boat users - beware. Breaching at this time of year is associated with courting, and we have filmed torus activity around these breaches. Again boat users need to be aware that there are possibly hundreds of sharks just below the surface which you cannot see so please motor slowly and if there are fins on the surface give them space.Image courtesy of John Glynn ...
